Women’s Volleyball Rolls to 3-0 Victory Over Norwich

QUINCY, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College women's volleyball team notched a 3-0 win over Norwich Tuesday evening at the Lahue Athletic Center.


THE BASICS:

Records: Lions (13-1) | Cadets (4-8)


HOW IT HAPPENED:                              

  • The hosts cruised to a 25-9 victory in the first frame to collect a 1-0 lead.
  • After starting off the second set with an 8-0 run, Eastern Nazarene posted a wire-to-wire 25-7 decision to expand its advantage to 2-0.
  • The Lions topped the Cadets 25-15 in the third to lock up their third win in a row.


INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:

  • Eliana Baran (Beaumont, Calif.) registered a match-best 10 kills.
  • Maria Clarabuch (Sant Cugat Del Valles, Spain) finished with nine kills and a team-high seven digs.
  • Shantte Siliezar (Puerto Cortes, Honduras) chipped in with six kills and six digs on the night.
  • Telma Zelaya (Tegucigalpa, Honduras) posted 17 assists and five service aces.
  • Amanda Pierce (Johnston, R.I.) tallied six digs and five aces while Sophia Berardinelli (Hanson, Mass.) and Annika Schmitt (Quincy, Mass.) each dished out seven assists.
  • Sam Lebruska, Lillie Ells, and Giovanna Fruci all recorded three kills in the match for Norwich.
