Women’s Volleyball Notches Two 3-1 Victories at Skidmore Classic Saturday

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y.- The Eastern Nazarene College women's volleyball team earned a 3-1 win over Skidmore before downing Oneonta 3-1 Saturday at the Skidmore Classic.

HOW IT HAPPENED:                              

• Skidmore edged Eastern Nazarene 25-23 in the opening frame to seize a 1-0 lead.
• The Lions roared back with a 25-10 victory in the second set to knot the match at 1-1.
• Eastern Nazarene captured the third 25-15 to grab a 2-1 advantage.
• The visitors triumphed 25-16 in the fourth frame to secure their fifth consecutive win.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:

• Andrea Aceituno (Tegucigalpa, Honduras) posted 14 kills, 10 digs, and three aces.
• Maria Clarabuch (Sant Cugat Del Valles, Spain) finished with 12 kills, 11 digs, and five service aces.
• Shantte Siliezar (Puerto Cortes, Honduras) notched 11 kills and four total blocks.
• Telma Zelaya (Tegucigalpa, Honduras) racked up 36 assists and a team-high 12 digs.
• Jo Blanco and Carolyn Scott each recorded eight kills in the match for Skidmore.

HOW IT HAPPENED:                              

• Eastern Nazarene cruised to a 25-9 victory in the first set to jump ahead 1-0.
• Oneonta answered with a hard-fought 29-27 win in the second to pull even at 1-1.
• The Lions reclaimed a one-set advantage, 2-1, with a 25-15 decision in the third frame.
• Eastern Nazarene locked up its sixth victory after prevailing 25-15 in the fourth set.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:

• Shantte Siliezar (Puerto Cortes, Honduras) registered a career-high 20 kills to go with 11 digs.
• Andrea Aceituno (Tegucigalpa, Honduras) notched 15 kills, 11 digs, and five service aces.
• Telma Zelaya (Tegucigalpa, Honduras) finished with 35 assists, nine digs, five aces, and four kills.
• Maria Clarabuch (Sant Cugat Del Valles, Spain) added eight kills while Amanda Pierce (Johnston, R.I.) chipped in with 10 digs and nine assists.
• Ashanti Davis paced the Red Dragons with eight kills and Annalisa Alicea posted a match-best 15 digs.
