Women’s Volleyball Knocks Off Morrisville 3-0 to Open NAC Slate

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y.- The Eastern Nazarene College women's volleyball team posted a 3-0 victory over Morrisville in the first North Atlantic Conference match of the season Friday evening at the Skidmore Classic. Friday's contest marked the first-ever North Atlantic Conference tilt for both the Lions and the Mustangs. Earlier this fall, Morrisville was tabbed the preseason favorite in the NAC West division.

HOW IT HAPPENED:                              

• Eastern Nazarene rolled to a 25-12 win in the first set to capture a 1-0 lead.
• The Lions extended their advantage to 2-0 with a 25-17 decision in the second frame.
• Eastern Nazarene prevailed 25-15 in the third to cap off its second sweep of the year.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:

• Eliana Baran (Beaumont, Calif.) paced the Lions offensively with a match-high 11 kills.
• Andrea Aceituno (Tegucigalpa, Honduras) finished with 10 kills and a team-best seven digs.
• Maria Clarabuch (Sant Cugat Del Valles, Spain) notched seven kills, five digs, and three service aces.
• Telma Zelaya (Tegucigalpa, Honduras) registered 32 assists to go with six digs and two kills.
• Shantte Siliezar (Puerto Cortes, Honduras) tallied six kills in her collegiate debut while Amanda Pierce (Johnston, R.I.) chipped in with seven digs.
• Emily Huppee recorded eight kills to lead Morrisville while Kayci Olson added eight digs and four kills.
