Women’s Volleyball Defeats New England College 3-1 to Claim Third-Straight NECC Crown
QUINCY, Mass.- The top-seeded Eastern Nazarene College women's volleyball team posted a 3-1 victory over No. 2 seed New England College Sunday afternoon at the Lahue Athletic Center to capture its third-consecutive New England Collegiate Conference championship.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Eastern Nazarene eked out a thrilling 28-26 win in the opening set to establish a 1-0 lead.
- New England College responded with a 25-23 victory in the second frame to level the match at 1-1.
- The home side bounced back to claim the third 25-16 to regain a one-set advantage, 2-1.
- The Lions prevailed 25-15 in the fourth to lock up their 16th-consecutive victory and third-straight league championship.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Halle Julian (Whitman, Mass.) posted a season-best 15 kills to go with four total blocks.
- Eliana Baran (Beaumont, Calif.) also notched 15 kills and added three blocks on the afternoon.
- Andrea Aceituno (Tegucigalpa, Honduras) finished with 12 kills and 11 digs.
- Telma Zelaya (Tegucigalpa, Honduras) racked up 43 assists, a team-high 12 digs, and four service aces.
- Amya Altman (Butler, Pa.) collected 12 digs and dealt three aces.
ALL-TOURNAMENT TEAM:
Halle Julian (Whitman, Mass.) was named the 2022 NECC Tournament MVP while Andrea Aceituno (Tegucigalpa, Honduras) and Telma Zelaya (Tegucigalpa, Honduras) earned All-Tournament honors.
NCAA TOURNAMENT AWAITS:
By virtue of clinching their third-straight NECC title, the Lions earn the conference's automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament. Eastern Nazarene will learn its opening round matchup Monday as the NCAA Tournament Selection Show airs on NCAA.com.
