
Women’s Volleyball Tripped Up at Rivier, 3-1
NASHUA, N.H.- The Eastern Nazarene College women's volleyball team dropped a 3-1 decision at Rivier Wednesday evening.
The Lions move to 8-7 on the season with the setback while the Raiders rise to 5-4 overall.
Eliana Baran (Beaumont, Calif.) notched a team-high 11 kills on the night. Emma Graves (Berkshire, N.Y.) posted 10 kills and four total blocks. Telma Zelaya (Tegucigalpa, Honduras) finished with six kills along with seven digs and two aces. Amya Altman (Butler, Pa.) racked up a match-high 20 digs while Ruth Aguilar (Tegucigalpa, Honduras) recorded 31 assists, four digs, four kills, and three blocks.
The visitors jumped out to a 1-0 edge with a 25-19 win in the first set.
The home team answered with a 25-12 victory in the second to even the match at 1-1.
Rivier claimed a one-set lead, 2-1, after capturing the third frame 25-20.
The Raiders wrapped up their third-consecutive victory with a 25-18 decision in the fourth set.
Lily Blodgett tallied a match-high 14 kills to lead Rivier while Aly Werth chipped in with 12 kills and Avery Pollard added 35 assists.
Up next, Eastern Nazarene heads to Bay Path and Western New England October 2 for a pair of road matches.
