Top-Seed Women’s Volleyball Hosts #4 Seed Mitchell in NECC Semifinals Friday
QUINCY, Mass.- The No. 1 seed Eastern Nazarene College women's volleyball team squares off against fourth-seeded Mitchell in a New England Collegiate Conference Tournament semifinal showdown Friday evening.

HOW THEY GOT HERE:
Eastern Nazarene finished the regular season with a 15-6 overall record to go with an unblemished 7-0 league mark to claim the No. 1 seed in the New England Collegiate Conference Tournament for the second-straight season. Mitchell earned the No. 4 seed with a 13-11-0 record on the year and a 4-3-0 mark in conference play. The Mariners topped Dean 3-0 in the NECC Tournament first round to advance to the semifinals.
POSTSEASON HISTORY:
Eastern Nazarene is making its second-straight trip to the NECC Tournament and 18th all-time postseason appearance. Last fall, the Lions reached the NECC Championship match before falling to Southern Vermont 3-1.
ENC vs. MITCHELL – ALL-TIME SERIES:
Eastern Nazarene and Mitchell have clashed on the court six times in the all-time series. The Lions have swept the Mariners in all six previous matchups.
POSTSEASON ACCOLADES:
Eastern Nazarene garnered four All-New England Collegiate Conference nods, as the conference announce the postseason awards earlier this week. Sophomore Ruth Aguilar (Tegucigalpa, Honduras) was named the NECC Player of the Year. Courtney McCarthy (Merrimack, N.H.) joined Aguilar on the All-NECC first team for the second-consecutive year. Halle Julian (Whitman, Mass.) and Rebecca Thorne (Quincy, Mass.) were both selected to the All-NECC second team.
KILLER QUEENS:
Sophomore Ruth Aguilar (Tegucigalpa, Honduras) paces the league with 3.67 kills per set while ranking second in total kills with 246 on the year. Senior Courtney McCarthy (Merrimack, N.H.) ranks fourth in the NECC with 209 kills on the season and ranks fifth with 2.90 kills per set.
