
League-Leading Women’s Volleyball Triumphs at Dean, 3-0
FRANKLIN, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College women's volleyball team posted a 3-0 victory at Dean Wednesday evening.
The Lions improve to 12-5 on the season and remain unbeaten in the New England Collegiate Conference with a 5-0 mark. The Bulldogs fall to 6-12 overall and 2-2 in league matches with the result.
Ruth Aguilar (Tegucigalpa, Honduras) notched eight kills, 10 assists, seven digs, and four aces. Halle Julian (Whitman, Mass.) finished with eight kills while Jaclyn Teed (Lansdale, Pa.) posted six kills. Courtney McCarthy (Merrimack, N.H.) contributed with six kills and 10 digs. Rebecca Thorne (Quincy, Mass.) tallied five kills and one solo block. Jessica Caldwell (Quincy, Mass.) collected a team-high 14 digs and Samantha Caldwell (Quincy, Mass.) dished out 11 assists.
The visitors raced out to a 1-0 lead after capturing the first set 25-12.
Eastern Nazarene extended its advantage to 2-0 with a 25-13 win in the second frame.
The Lions locked up their fifth conference victory of the season with a 25-15 decision in the third.
Miranda Marquez paced Dean with eight kills while Kait Anderson finished with six kills and Amanda Payne recorded 14 digs.
Up next, Eastern Nazarene will host Pine Manor on Homecoming weekend October 19.
