Top-Seeded Women’s Volleyball Faces No. 3 Seed Southern Vermont in NECC Championship Sunday
QUINCY, Mass.- The top-seeded Eastern Nazarene College women's volleyball team hosts third-seeded Southern Vermont in the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Tournament championship Sunday afternoon.

HOW THEY GOT HERE:
Eastern Nazarene enters the match with a 20-6 overall record and captured a share of the NECC regular-season title with an 8-1 mark in the regular season. Southern Vermont boasts a 20-6 record on the year and posted a 7-2 record in conference play this season. Eastern Nazarene blanked Mitchell 3-0 in the quarterfinal round before rolling past New England College 3-0 in the semifinals. Southern Vermont topped Bay Path 3-0 in the opening round and edged Elms 3-2 in the semifinals.
CHAMPIONSHIP HISTORY:
Eastern Nazarene is making its first-ever trip to the NECC Tournament after joining the conference this year. The Lions' previous postseason appearance came in 2013 with a trip to the Commonwealth Coast Conference Tournament quarterfinals. Eastern Nazarene is seeking the program's first conference title since the Crusaders captured the 1997 Commonwealth Coast Conference Tournament crown.
LIONS VS. MOUNTAINEERS:
In the first-ever meeting between the two squads earlier this season, Eastern Nazarene prevailed 3-2 on the road in the final match of the regular season to clinch the top seed in the NECC Tournament.
ALL-CONFERENCE RECOGNITION:
Eastern Nazarene landed a pair on the All-New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) first team. Ruth Aguilar (Tegucigalpa, Honduras) was named the NECC Rookie of the Year while Courtney McCarthy (Merrimack, N.H.) joined her on the all-conference first team. Sophomore Samantha Caldwell (Quincy, Mass.) was selected to the NECC Del Malloy Sportsmanship Team.
