WILLIMANTIC, Conn.- The Eastern Nazarene volleyball team absorbed a pair of 3-0 losses Saturday, falling to Keene State and Eastern Connecticut State.
The Lions dip to 7-10 on the year while the Owls improve to 10-6 and the Warriors move to 7-8.
Eastern Nazarene was led by Hannah Welsh (Derry, N.H.) with 15 kills and 13 digs on the day. Cayla Clinkscale (Winchendon, Mass.) and Kortney Jenkins (Bunker Hill, W.V.) each posted 11 kills and 16 digs in the two losses. Vanessa Pascal (Marlborough, Mass.) finished with six kills and 16 digs. Rookie Lauryl Berger (Laurel, Del.) registered 37 assists on the afternoon for the Lions.
Eastern Nazarene dropped the first set to Keene State 25-15 before the Owls grabbed a two-set advantage with a 25-16 win in the second. Keene State closed out the victory with a 25-17 decision in the third frame.
In the Lions' second match of the day, Eastern Nazarene fell 25-21 in the opening set to Eastern Connecticut State. The Warriors claimed the second set 25-20 and third game 25-18 to earn the win.
