Volleyball Triumphs at Wentworth in Season Finale

The Lions finish the 2012 campaign with a 13-16 overall record and a 2-6 mark in the Commonwealth Coast Conference. The Leopards dip to 8-15 on the year and 2-6 in league play.
Rookie Dana Day (Coarsegold, Calif.) led Eastern Nazarene with 14 kills and 24 digs in the victory. Cayla Clinkscale (Winchendon, Mass.) posted 12 kills and nine blocks for the Lions while Kortney Jenkins (Bunker Hill, W.V.) added 10 kills, 20 digs and four aces. Freshman Hannah Welsh (Derry, N.H.) registered 35 assists in the match.
The visitors prevailed in the opening set 25-16 before the hosts leveled the match at 1-1 with a 25-18 decision in the second frame.
Eastern Nazarene reclaimed a one-set advantage with a 25-22 win in the third game. The Lions closed out the match with a 25-18 victory in the fourth to secure their 13th win of the year.
Michelle Hobbs paced Wentworth with 12 kills while Julie Rahilly notched 10. Shannon Ponce dished out 32 assists and Sam Curran recorded 20 digs.
