Volleyball Sweeps Salem State on Homecoming, 3-0

The victory lifts the Lions to 12-15 overall while the Vikings slip to 4-15 on the year.
Kortney Jenkins (Bunker Hill, W.V.) paced the home side with 10 kills on the day while Birdina Tuiava (Colorado Springs, Colo.) added six kills, 18 assists and 10 digs. Leann Williams (Oxford, Pa.), Dana Day (Coarsegold, Calif.) and Hannah Welsh (Derry, N.H.) all contributed with five kills for the Lions.
Cayla Clinkscale (Winchendon, Mass.) tallied three kills and dealt a team-high seven service aces in the match. Day also chipped in with eight digs and Sam Losano (Elverta, Calif.) registered six digs in the contest.
The visitors were led by Jazmin Santos with six kills while Brittany Roscoe and Emily Peay each posted five kills and four kills, respectively.
Eastern Nazarene grabbed a 13-7 lead in the first set en route to claiming the game 25-18. The Lions edged Salem State 25-23 in the second frame which saw three ties and three lead changes.
The hosts closed out the match with a 25-20 decision in the third stanza. The Vikings rallied back from a two-point deficit early on to snag a five-point advantage by scoring seven unanswered points, 9-4.
Eastern Nazarene battled to level the game at 16-16 before ultimately seizing the lead 19-18. The Lions would not relinquish the lead as they secured their 12th win of the season.
