Women’s Tennis Claims North Atlantic Conference Crown, Defeats Lesley in Finals

HAMPDEN, Maine- The top-seeded Eastern Nazarene College women's tennis team captured its first North Atlantic Conference championship with a 5-0 victory over No. 2 seed Lesley Saturday afternoon. The Lions topped fourth-seeded Thomas 5-0 in the semifinal round Saturday morning to advance to the NAC Tournament championship match.

The win marks the program's second-ever conference title after clinching the Great Northeast Athletic Conference championship in 2019.

By virtue of clinching the North Atlantic Conference title, Eastern Nazarene booked its first-ever trip to the NCAA Tournament with the league's automatic qualifying bid. The Lions had secured a spot in the 2020 NCAA Tournament after capturing the Great Northeast Athletic Conference championship in the fall of 2019 but the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted the spring season and the 2020 NCAA Tournament was cancelled.
