
Women’s Tennis Opens GNAC Slate with 9-0 Loss to Regis
QUINCY, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College women's tennis team dropped a 9-0 decision to Regis Saturday afternoon at the ENC Tennis Courts in the first Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) match of the fall.
The Lions sink to 0-2 on the year and 0-1 in conference play with the result. The Pride improves to 1-2 overall and 1-0 in league action with the win.
The guests coasted to three doubles victories to tally a 3-0 lead.
Katie Cawthorne (Norwell, Mass.) and Jenna Schlosser (Bridgewater, Mass.) fell 8-0 at the No. 1 doubles position to Lauren Mogelnicki and Kaitlyn Colby.
Mya Landry (Derry, N.H.) and Krista Signs (Mashpee, Mass.) suffered an 8-0 setback at the No. 2 spot against Katelyn Mogelnicki and Kaeleigh FitzPatrick.
Kari Bollinger (Alton Bay, N.H.) and Mary Boucher (Whitinsville, Mass.) endured an 8-0 loss to Samantha Gevry and Stephanie Beatrice at the No. 3 slot.
Regis registered six singles wins to complete the sweep and collect its first victory of the year.
Schlosser fell in straight sets at the top singles position to Katelyn Mogelnicki 6-0, 6-0 and Madison Rearick (Londonderry, N.H.) dropped a 6-0, 6-0 decision to Lauren Mogelnicki at the second spot.
Bollinger absorbed a 6-3, 6-2 setback at the No. 3 position to Gevry while Cawthorne fell 6-2, 6-0 at the fourth slot.
Boucher and Delaney Walker (Nampa, Idaho) each suffered 6-0, 6-0 losses at the fifth and sixth spots, respectively.
