Women’s Tennis Endures 9-0 Loss at Roger Williams in Season Finale
BRISTOL, R.I.- The Eastern Nazarene College women's tennis team dropped a 9-0 decision at Roger Williams Friday afternoon to close out the 2014 campaign.
The Lions wrap up the season with a 2-10 overall record and a 1-7 mark in the Commonwealth Coast Conference. The Hawks improve to 9-3 on the year and 5-2 in league play with the win.
Tressa Burrello (Herkimer, N.Y.) and Jordan Cressman (Bowmanstown, Pa.) fell to Alexandra Brown and Lauren Schmidt at the No. 1 doubles spot 8-1.
Hannah Lariviere (Biddeford, Maine) and Bethany Mohnkern (Petersburg, Pa.) suffered an 8-0 setback to Harley Kaiserman and Caroline McCarthy at the second doubles position.
Jordan Price (Snow Hill, Md.) and Julie Sutton (Middletown, Conn.) absorbed an 8-0 loss at the third doubles slot to Kathryn Hughes and Gabrielle Riley.
Burrello fell in straight sets at the top singles position to Schmidt 6-0, 6-0. Cressman dropped a 6-1, 6-0 decision at the second singles spot to Hughes.
Lariviere endured a 6-0, 6-0 loss at the No. 3 position to Kaiserman while Mohnkern suffered a 6-0, 6-0 setback at the fourth slot to Brown.
Sutton and Price each fell in straight sets in the fifth and sixth singles matches, respectively.
