Women’s Soccer Receives United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award
KANSAS CITY, Mo.- The Eastern Nazarene College women's soccer team garnered its eighth United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award after posting a team grade-point average of 3.32 in the 2022-23 academic year.
"Excellence in the classroom is the culmination of hard work and dedication. Like soccer, the student-athlete's success is rooted in the attention to small details repeated on a daily basis," commented head coach Jim Lipocky.
The Lions had six Academic All-New England Collegiate Conference honorees last fall: Deeana Castro, Amaris Hernandez-Diaz, Mackenzie Quick, Bethany Smith, Rachel Smith, and Delaney Walker.
A total of 508 collegiate women's soccer programs across the nation were recognized for their academic success in 2022-23. For a team to be considered for the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award, it must have a composite team grade point average of at least 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) for all team members who appear on the official NCAA, NAIA, NCCAA or junior college roster forms for the fall season.
The Lions collected the honor in 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2017, 2018, and 2020.
