Women’s Soccer Falters at Simmons, 4-2
BRIGHTON, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College women's soccer team suffered a 4-2 setback at Simmons Thursday evening in non-conference action.
THE BASICS:

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The home team jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the 15th minute. Riley Wasiuk netted her first goal of the season while Courtney Sweeney provided the assist.
- Simmons doubles its advantage to 2-0 with a strike in the 24th minute. Sydney Neumuth finished off a feed from Izabella Warren to collect her first tally of the fall.
- The Sharks stretched the gap to 3-0 with a score in the 25th minute as Kayla Noonan bagged her third marker of the year.
- Eastern Nazarene got on the board in the 55th minute, cutting the deficit to 3-1. Rachel Pieger (Oakville, Conn.) converted a penalty kick to notch her team-leading second goal of the season.
- The Lions pulled to within one, 3-2, with a tally in the 80th minute. Kenna Cruise (Fairhaven, Mass.) buried her first collegiate goal as Pieger picked up her first assist of the fall.
- Simmons quickly responded with a goal 30 seconds later to reclaim a two-goal edge, 4-2. Noonan netted her second tally of the match while Jillian Napolitano was credited with an assist.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Goalkeeper Jasmine Arzu (Bronx, N.Y) racked up 14 saves in her third start of the season.
- Eastern Nazarene fired eight shots in the contest while Simmons finished with 27 shot attempts.
- The visitors owned a 6-3 advantage in corner kicks on the evening.
