
Women’s Soccer Garners Four All-NECC Selections; Sophia Fevola Named NECC Co-Goalkeeper of the Year
MANSFIELD, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College women's soccer team landed four student-athletes on the All-New England Collegiate Conference team and senior Sophia Fevola (Wellington, Fla.) was tabbed the NECC Co-Goalkeeper of the Year, announced the league office Tuesday.
Joining Fevola on the All-NECC team are Sam Baston (Carver, Mass.), Diamond Best (Danvers, Mass.), and Rachel Pieger (Oakdale, Conn.) while Briana Taylor (Milton, Del.) earned a spot on the NECC Del Malloy Sportsmanship Team.
Fevola has seen action in 14 contests and started 13 between the pipes while registering 89 saves. She sports a 2-9-0 record on the year with two clean sheets to her credit.
Baston leads the Lions and ranks sixth in the conference with four goals on the season.
Best ranks second in the league with a pair of tallies in conference matches this fall. She paces Eastern Nazarene with nine points on the year with three goals and three assists.
Pieger anchored the Lions' backline and was one of two players to start all 15 matches this season. She chipped in on the offensive end with a pair of markers.
Eastern Nazarene boasts a 3-12-0 overall record and finished the regular-season with an 0-3-0 mark in conference action. The No. 4 seeded Lions will travel to face top-seeded Lesley in the NECC Tournament semifinals November 3.
