GORHAM, Maine- The Eastern Nazarene College women's soccer team suffered a 6-0 setback at Southern Maine Tuesday evening.
The Lions fall to 2-8-0 on the season with the result while the Huskies improve to 7-2-2 overall.
The hosts established a 1-0 edge in the 16th minute as Ciera Berthiaume netted her seventh goal of the season.
Southern Maine doubled its advantage to 2-0 on Berthiaume's second tally of the night in the 51st minute.
The Huskies tacked on their third goal of the game in the 59th minute to extend their lead to 3-0. Berthiaume bagged her third marker of the match
The home team stretched the margin to 4-0 in the 60th minute. Aly Veilleux notched her first goal of the season after a slotted pass from Kiki Huntress.
Southern Maine added a score in the 66th minute to push the gap to 5-0. Mia Sargent converted a penalty kick to collect her third tally of the year.
The Huskies capped off the scoring in the 75th minute on Billie Walter's first marker of the campaign.
The hosts concluded the contest with a commanding 35-0 margin in shots.
Sophomore Jasmine Arzu (Bronx, N.Y.) recorded 10 saves in her first start of the fall. Senior Sophia Fevola (Wellington, Fla.) finished with four stops in her first relief appearance of the season.
Looking ahead, Eastern Nazarene returns home to host Fisher October 12.
