WENHAM, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College women's soccer team absorbed a 7-0 setback at Gordon Saturday afternoon.
The Lions drop to 2-2-0 overall with the result while the Fighting Scots improve to 2-0-0 on the season.
The home side opened the scoring in the 10th minute as Calla Ashley netted her second goal of the fall off of an assist from Shelby Jones.
Gordon doubled its advantage to 2-0 in the 42nd minute as Jones bagged her first tally of the year.
The Fighting Scots tacked on their third score of the match in the 48th minute. Jones notched her second goal of the day as Abbey Engle picked up an assist.
The hosts pushed the margin to 4-0 with a strike in the 53rd minute as Jones completed the hat trick with an unassisted marker.
Gordon added two goals by Kristi Di Rico in the 59th and 65th minute before Casey Miller capped off the scoring in the 89th minute.
Senior goalkeeper Sophia Fevola (Wellington, Fla.) posted eight saves in her fourth start of the year.
Up next, Eastern Nazarene returns home to face Framingham State September 16.
