CASTINE, Maine – The Eastern Nazarene College women's soccer team endured a 2-0 setback at Maine Maritime Saturday afternoon.
The Lions slip to 1-1-0 on the season with the result while the Mariners improve to 1-1-0 overall.
The home side claimed a 1-0 lead in the 15th minute as Kelsey Bern picked up her first goal of the year off of a feed by Suzanne Wooldridge.
Eastern Nazarene generated four shots in the first half while Maine Maritime fired five shots.
The Mariners tacked on their second score of the match in the 56th minute to take a 2-0 advantage. Emma White slipped a low shot inside the right post to collect her first collegiate tally.
The Lions finished with six shots in the match, led by Sam Baston (Carver, Mass.) with two shots on frame. Maine Maritime managed 10 shots on the day and held a 3-1 edge in corner kicks.
Senior goalkeeper Sophia Fevola (Wellington, Fla.) posted three saves in her second start of the fall.
