
Women’s Soccer Drops 2-0 Decision to Dean
QUINCY, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College women's soccer team suffered a 2-0 setback to Dean Wednesday afternoon at Veterans Memorial Stadium.
The Lions slip to 2-8-1 on the year and 1-3-0 in the New England Collegiate Conference with the outcome. The Bulldogs improve to 3-10-0 overall and 1-3-0 in league play with the victory.
The two teams battled to a scoreless opening frame with the home side manufacturing 13 shots and the visitors registering a pair of attempts.
Dean seized a 1-0 advantage in the 66th minute. Miranda Seacord netted her sixth goal of the season as she finished off a feed from Jasmine Sztyler-Magee.
The Bulldogs tacked on their second score of the game in the 90th minute to widen the gap to 2-0. Seacord bagged her second goal of the game and seventh of the year as she finished off a breakaway after a long pass by Molly Rockett.
Eastern Nazarene concluded the contest with 23 shots, led by Sam Bernardi (Longmeadow, Mass.) with eight attempts while Sam Baston (Carver, Mass.) fired four shots. Dean managed nine shots in the contest while both squads posted two corner kicks.
Senior goalkeeper Griselda Minchaca (Whittier, Calif.) registered four saves in her eighth start of the season.
Looking ahead, Eastern Nazarene will host Southern Maine on Homecoming weekend October 19.
