WESTON, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College women's soccer team suffered a 3-1 setback at Regis Tuesday evening.
The Lions move to 1-2-0 on the year with the result while the Pride improves to 2-1-0 overall.
The hosts snagged a 1-0 edge in the 35th minute. Payton Fitzgerald notched her first goal of the season
Eastern Nazarene fired three shots in the first frame while Regis registered 11 attempts.
The Pride added a goal in the 53rd minute to widen the gap to 2-0 as Fitzgerald tallied her second score of the game off of a feed by Kaylee Francis.
The Lions cut the deficit to 2-1 just 32 seconds later in the 54th minute. Rookie Briana Taylor (Milton, Del.) netted her first collegiate goal as Sam Bernardi (Longmeadow, Mass.) provided the assist.
Regis reclaimed a two-goal advantage in the 72nd minute, 3-1. Francis buried her second marker of the season on an unassisted strike.
The visitors concluded the contest with five shot attempts while the home side posted 26 shots on the night.
Rookie Sarah Moschini (Upton, Mass.) racked up 14 saves between the pipes for the Lions.
