QUINCY, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College women's soccer team suffered a 5-0 setback to Gordon Wednesday evening at Veterans' Memorial Stadium.
The Lions drop to 6-10-0 on the season and 1-6-0 in the Commonwealth Coast Conference with the loss. The Fighting Scots improve to 7-4-2 overall and 4-2-1 in league competition with the result.
The visitors opened the scoring in the 10th minute, grabbing a 1-0 edge. Asha Steele netted her team-leading sixth goal of the season off of a feed by Ashton Barkey.
Gordon doubled its advantage to 2-0 in the 13th minute as Lexi Potter collected her fourth tally of the year.
The home side mustered one shot attempt in the first half while the Fighting Scots recorded 15 shots.
Gordon widened the gap to 3-0 in the 67th minute on Potter's second score of the game and fifth of the season.
The Fighting Scots tacked on their fourth goal of the match in the 72nd minute. Steele bagged her second marker of the contest and seventh of the year while Devin Lacroix added her second assist of the night.
The guests stretched the margin to 5-0 in the 84th minute as Tori Caswell found the back of the net to pick up her first goal of the season and Lacroix dished her third helper of the game.
Eastern Nazarene finished with just one shot on the evening while Gordon racked up 30 chances.
Sophomore netminder Michaela Connors (Norwell, Mass.) registered a career-high 13 saves in her eighth appearance of the season between the pipes.
