QUINCY, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College women's soccer team fell to Roger Williams 2-0 Saturday afternoon at Veterans Memorial Stadium on Homecoming weekend.
The Lions sink to 3-11-1 on the season and 0-6-0 in the Commonwealth Coast Conference with the loss. The Hawks improve to 7-6-2 overall and remain unbeaten in league play at 4-0-2.
Neither team found the back of the net in the opening 45 minutes of action as Roger Williams held a 13-2 edge in shots.
The visitors got on the board in the 73rd minute to seize a 1-0 lead. Kristen Casey netted her first goal of the year as she drilled a long-distance free kick.
The Hawks doubled their advantage to 2-0 in the 84th minute. Morgan Snow dispossessed a defender close to goal before firing a shot inside the near post to collect her second marker of the fall.
Senior Katherine Lawrence (Marlborough, Conn.) registered Eastern Nazarene's lone two shots in the match. Roger Williams concluded the contest with a 25 attempts and a 12-1 margin in corner kicks earned.
Anastasia Swift (Morrisville, Vt.) recorded nine saves in net for the hosts on the afternoon.
Looking ahead, Eastern Nazarene travels to league-leader Wentworth October 19.
