Women’s Soccer Places Four on All-CCC Teams

SPRINGFIELD, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College women's soccer team garnered four All-Commonwealth Coast Conference selections this season, as announced by the league office Thursday.

Seniors Lauren Kett (Norwich, England) and Jules Speno (Hopewell Junction, N.Y.) each earned spots on the All-CCC first team. Sophomore Hannah Scahill (Quaker Hill, Conn.) was tabbed to the All-CCC second team while classmate Katherine Lawrence (Marlborough, Conn.) received honorable mention.

Kett picked up her first career All-CCC nod after anchoring the Lions' defensive unit that allowed just 1.20 goals-per-game this fall. The senior defender appeared in all 18 matches for Eastern Nazarene and started 15 contests.

Speno collected her third career All-CCC accolade and second All-CCC first team honor. She netted four goals and added one assist for nine points on the season. Speno tallied a pair of game-winning goals this fall. The senior played in all 18 games this fall and made 17 starts for the Lions.

Scahill earned her first career all-conference selection after pacing Eastern Nazarene with 15 points on a team-best seven goals and one assist. The sophomore also notched three game-winners to lead the Lions. She saw action in all 18 contests for Eastern Nazarene and started 17 matches.

Lawrence received All-CCC honorable mention for the second consecutive season. She buried three goals on the season, all of which proved to be game-winning strikes. The sophomore started 13 games and appeared in 16 total contests this fall.

Eastern Nazarene finished the regular season with a 9-9-0 overall record while attaining the program's highest finish in the conference standings, claiming third place with a 6-3-0 league record. The Lions posted the program's first-ever wins over Endicott and Gordon during the regular season.

Eastern Nazarene locked up the No. 3 seed in the Commonwealth Coast Conference Tournament and will host sixth-seeded Western New England in the quarterfinal round November 1 at 11 am at Veterans Memorial Stadium in the Lions' second-ever home playoff contest.
