
Women’s Soccer Announces 2014 Schedule
QUINCY, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene women's soccer team has released its 18-game schedule for the 2014 campaign.
The Lions' 2014 schedule is highlighted by nine home matches at Veterans Memorial Stadium.
Eastern Nazarene opens the season at the Flower City Tournament hosted by the University of Rochester. The Lions will face Union in the first match of the fall August 29 before squaring off against the host Yellowjackets August 30.
The Lions first home match of the 2014 season is slated for September 6 as they takes on Moravian in the first-ever meeting between the two clubs. Eastern Nazarene will also play the next two games at home, hosting Suffolk September 9 before battling Wheaton September 11. The Lions will look to avenge a double-overtime loss to the Lyons in the ECAC Tournament quarterfinals last fall.
Eastern Nazarene will kick off play in the Commonwealth Coast Conference September 13 at Western New England.
After a pair of non-conference tilts, the Lions will resume league action on the road at Salve Regina September 20 before returning home to take on the University of New England September 27.
Eastern Nazarene opens the month of October with back-to-back road contests at Wentworth October 4 and at Brandeis October 7.
The Lions will play four of their final five matches on home turf. Eastern Nazarene is slated to host Curry October 11 and Roger Williams one week later on October 18 in the annual Homecoming game.
Eastern Nazarene's final road game of the regular season is scheduled for October 22 at Gordon.
The Lions' final two contests of the 2014 campaign will be played at home. Eastern Nazarene will square off against Nichols October 25 before hosting Endicott, the defending Commonwealth Coast Conference champions, in the regular-season finale October 28.
Last fall, Eastern Nazarene posted a program-best 11-8-1 overall record and finished sixth in the league standings with a 4-4-1 mark. The Lions reached the Commonwealth Coast Conference Tournament for the third straight season in 2013 and suffered a 2-1 overtime loss at Gordon in the quarterfinals.
Eastern Nazarene also earned its first-ever berth to the ECAC Tournament last year where it fell in double-overtime at Wheaton, 3-2.
