
Hannah Scahill Named CCC Women’s Soccer Rookie of the Week
SPRINGFIELD, Mass.- Freshman striker Hannah Scahill (Quaker Hill, Conn.) of the Eastern Nazarene women's soccer team has been tabbed the Commonwealth Coast Conference Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league office Monday afternoon.
Scahill collects her first Rookie of the Week accolade after helping the Lions capture three wins last week.
Scahill netted four goals on the week to jump into the team-lead with nine tallies on the season.
The rookie scored a pair of goals in Eastern Nazarene's 5-0 victory over Regis. Scahill found the back of the net twice in the second half against the Pride.
She closed out the week with two first-half markers to lead the Lions to a 3-1 win over Curry in the squad's first conference match of the season. Scahill's goals came just 12 seconds apart to give Eastern Nazarene an early 2-0 lead over the Colonels
Scahill fired 12 shots on the week with nine being on target.
Scahill and junior Jules Speno (Hopewell Junction, N.Y.) share the team-lead with 20 points on the season. Scahill has tallied nine goals and dished out a pair of assists in her first collegiate season.
Eastern Nazarene boasts a 7-1-0 overall record and a 1-0-0 mark against Commonwealth Coast Conference opponents. The Lions are currently riding a six-match winning-streak and will look to claim their seventh victory in a row as they host Becker September 25 at Veterans Memorial Stadium.
