Women’s Soccer Draws Endicott, 0-0

QUINCY, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College women's soccer team posted its fourth-straight shutout, battling Endicott to a 0-0 tie Saturday afternoon at Veterans Memorial Stadium. The Lions move to 2-5-2 on the year and 1-0-1 in the Commonwealth Coast Conference. The Gulls progress to 4-3-1 overall and 0-1-1 in league matches.

"Today's match was a good, hard fought effort and I was proud of the way we played," said head coach Steve Hamilton.

The visitors nearly tacked on a goal in the 18th minute but Lions' goalkeeper Kristen Farley (Westminster, Mass.) pushed the ball off the crossbar to keep the match level at 0-0.

Endicott held a 9-1 edge in shots through 45 minutes while earning the only three corner kicks awarded in the half.

The Gulls' Nicole Fournier hit the post in the final minutes of regulation as she nearly found the back of the net off of a turnover.

Endicott fired 11 shots in the second stanza and Eastern Nazarene recorded three. The Gulls sported a 3-2 advantage in overtime opportunities while finishing the contest with a 7-1 margin in corner kicks.

Farley stopped all seven shots she faced in goal for the Lions to pick up her fourth clean sheet of the season. The rookie also extended her shutout streak to 431:52.

Katie Donnelly played the entire match between the posts for the Gulls. Her biggest stop came on a through ball late in the second half as she raced off her line to halt the attempt.

Eastern Nazarene returns to action September 25 as it travels to Becker.
