
Anaira Ayala Garners NAC Women’s Basketball Co-Player of the Week Accolades
WATERVILLE, Maine- Sophomore Anaira Ayala (Guaynabo, P.R.) of the Eastern Nazarene College women's basketball team has been named the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Co-Player of the Week, announced the league office Monday afternoon.
Ayala averaged 26.5 points per game and shot 52.9% from the field while splashing 11-of-24 three-point attempts.
In the Lions' 80-68 victory at SUNY Canton, she poured in a career-high 26 points to go with two rebounds and one assist. Ayala drained 6-of-13 from behind the arc in the win.
Ayala capped off the week with a career-best 27 points while adding two steals and two assists as Eastern Nazarene rolled to an 86-52 victory over Vermont State Johnson.
This season, she ranks second on the squad with 9.9 points per game and owns a three-point field-goal percentage of 30.5%.
Riding a four-game winning-streak, Eastern Nazarene boasts an 11-8 overall record with a 6-4 mark in North Atlantic Conference play. The Lions return to the hardwood January 23 to host MIT in a non-conference matchup.
