Genesis McNeill Garners NAC Women’s Basketball Defensive Player of the Week Accolades

WATERVILLE, Maine- Rookie Genesis McNeill (Providence, R.I.) of the Eastern Nazarene College women's basketball team has been named the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Defensive Player of the Week, announced the league office Monday afternoon.

In a 1-1 week for the Lions, McNeill posted 15 steals to go with seven rebounds and one block. She posted her first collegiate double-double in Eastern Nazarene's win at SUNY Morrisville, finishing with 14 points and 10 steals. Offensively, McNeill averaged 12.0 points per contest on the week with 4.0 assists per game.

McNeill paces the conference with 7.1 steals per game while also leading the Lions with 11.8 points per contest this season.

Eastern Nazarene boasts a 6-5 overall record with a 2-3 mark in North Atlantic Conference play. The Lions return to the hardwood December 12 to host UMass-Boston.
