Women’s Basketball Sweeps CCC Weekly Awards

SPRINGFIELD, Mass.- Senior Shelby Holmes (Seeley Lake, Mont.) of the Eastern Nazarene College women's basketball team was named the Commonwealth Coast Conference Player of the Week while Seniesha Sekaquaptewa (Scottsdale, Ariz.) was selected as the Rookie of the Week for the fourth time this season, announced the league office Monday.

Holmes poured in a game-high 18 points to lead the Lions to a 56-45 victory over Universidad Metropolitana down in Puerto Rico. She also chipped in with four rebounds and one steal in the contest.

Holmes connected on 6-of-7 attempts from the floor and went 3-for-4 from behind the arc while also converted all three of her free throw attempts in the win.

Sekaquaptewa netted 12 points and pulled down a game-high eight rebounds off the bench in the victory while adding two assists and one steal.

Eastern Nazarene returns to the hardwood January 4 to host Endicott in a crucial conference clash.v
