Shardae Brown Earns All-CCC Women’s Basketball Honorable Mention
SPRINGFIELD, Mass.- Senior Shardae Brown (Waterbury, Conn.) of the Eastern Nazarene womne’s basketball team garnered All-Commonwealth Coast Conference honorable mention for the second consecutive season.
SPRINGFIELD, Mass.- Senior Shardae Brown (Waterbury, Conn.) of the Eastern Nazarene womne's basketball team garnered All-Commonwealth Coast Conference honorable mention for the second consecutive season, as announced by the league office Tuesday.
Brown led the Lions with 9.4 points per game and 9.2 rebounds per contest on the season. She started in 21 games while seeing action in 23.
Brown connected on 37.9% of her field-goal attempts on the year, including 40.1% in conference contests. She shot 62.5% from the free throw line this season.
On February 2, Brown became the 10th player in program history to amass 1,000 career points with an 13-point effort at Gordon.
She finished the regular season tied for 20th in the conference in scoring and tied for third in rebounding. Brown also racked up 12 blocks on the year and 32 assists.
The senior helped the Lions post an 11-15 overall record with a 6-12 mark in the Commonwealth Coast Conference in 2012-13. Eastern Nazarene captured the #6 seed in the CCC Tournament for the second-straight season. The Lions suffered a 74-52 loss at third-seeded Salve Regina in the CCC quarterfinals February 19.
Brown finished her career with 1,046 points and 860 rebounds.
