Women’s Hoops Downed By UMass-Dartmouth, 68-39

The loss drops the Lions to 5-3 overall. The Corsairs improve to 9-1 overall while stretching their winning-streak to six games.
Ace Carradine (Honolulu, Hawaii) and Christina Saint-Pierre (Lantana, Fla.) each scored a team-high seven points for the Lions. Presley Neufeld (Seattle, Wash.) chipped in with six points and Shardae Brown (Waterbury, Conn.) grabbed a game-best 13 rebounds. Mel Green (Annapolis, Md.) pulled down nine boards while Saint-Pierre and Neufeld each registered seven.
The visitors claimed a 16-4 advantage with eight minutes to play in the first half as Shannon Singletary banked in a lay-up.
Jordan Grays (Elk Grove, Calif.) drained a three-pointer from the right corner to cut the deficit to 24-9 with 3:59 remaining in the opening frame.
UMass-Dartmouth sported a 33-14 lead at the halftime intermission.
Carradine paced Eastern Nazarene with five first-half points while Grays and Brown each scored three in the first stanza. Brown led all players with 11 boards through 20 minutes of action.
The Lions shot just 14.8% from the field in the opening frame while the Corsairs owned a field-goal percentage of 36.1% at the break.
The home side drew to within 16 points, 35-19, as Abbie Tonello (Plymouth, Mass.) tallied a pair of her five points on the night 2:28 into the second half.
The Corsairs maintained their lead for the remainder of the contest and extended the margin to 33 points, the largest of the evening, with 3:14 showing on the clock on a jumper by Erin Fahey.
Eastern Nazarene wrapped up the game with a field-goal percentage of 19.7%, its lowest offensive output of the season. UMass-Dartmouth connected on 38.6% of its shot attempts in the win.
