
Sacha Santimano Named a 2012 "40 Under 40 Award" Recipient by South Shore Stars
QUINCY, Mass. - Eastern Nazarene head women's basketball coach Sacha Santimano has been named a 2012 "40 Under 40 Award" recipient by South Shore Stars, a non-profit child and youth development program.
QUINCY, Mass. – Eastern Nazarene head women's basketball coach Sacha Santimano has been named a 2012 "40 Under 40 Award" recipient by South Shore Stars, a non-profit child and youth development program. The award acknowledges professional accomplishment, civic engagement and leadership potential.
Santimano is entering her second season at the helm of the Lions' women's basketball program. She guided the team to a 13-13 overall record in her first year – the best record since the 1999-2000 season.
Santimano also returned Eastern Nazarene to the Commonwealth Coast Conference playoffs as the squad posted a 10-8 mark in league play. The Lions earned the #6 seed in the postseason tournament before falling to third-seeded Western New England in the quarterfinals.
For her efforts in returning the program to its winning ways, Santimano was recognized as the Commonwealth Coast Conference Coach of the Year.
Under Santimano's tutelage, Alexis Malloy (Washington, D.C.) and Shardae Brown (Waterbury, Conn.) both received All-Commonwealth Coast Conference honorable mention in 2011-12.
Santimano is also a member of the United States Air Force Reserves.
The Lions will host Wheelock November 15 to open the 2012-13 campaign.
