REVERE, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College softball team dropped a 10-3 decision before storming past Thomas 9-0 to salvage a doubleheader split Tuesday.
GAME ONE
THE BASICS:
Score: Eastern Nazarene 3, Thomas 10
Records: Lions (8-21, 1-6 NAC) | Terriers (7-16, 5-2 NAC)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Eastern Nazarene scored twice in the bottom of the first inning to jump ahead 2-0.
- Thomas picked up a run in the second to cut the deficit to 2-1.
- The Terriers produced three runs in the third to claim a 4-2 lead.
- The Lions chalked up one run in the fourth inning to trim the gap to 4-3.
- Thomas manufactured two runs in the top of the fifth to extend its advantage to 6-3.
- The Terriers tacked on four runs in the seventh to widen the margin to 10-3.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Bailey Olaveson (Lakeside, Calif.) notched two hits to become the first player in program history to amass 200 career hits.
- Abby Stansbury (Warren, Ore.) finished with two hits, one RBI, and one run scored.
- Cayley McCurdy (Smithfield, R.I.) chipped in with two base knocks and one run scored.
- Faith Bonar (Omaha, Neb.) added two RBIs and one hit.
- Abby Stansbury (Warren, Ore.) pitched 6.2 innings and registered four strikeouts. Alexys Giddings (Kuna, Idaho) worked one-third of an inning in relief and retired the only batter she faced.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Lions tallied one run in the third to establish a narrow 1-0 edge.
- Highlighted by a walk-off homer by Christina Housley (Virginia Beach, Va.), Eastern Nazarene rattled off eight runs in the bottom of the fifth to wrap up its second conference victory of the spring.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Cayley McCurdy (Smithfield, R.I.) notched two hits, two RBIs, one run scored, and a stolen base.
- Abby Stansbury (Warren, Ore.) also posted two base knocks, two RBIs, and a run scored.
- Christina Housley (Virginia Beach, Va.) finished with two RBIs, two runs scored, and one hit.
- Madison Murray (Lakeville, Mass.) added two base hits and a pair of runs scored.
- Faith Bonar (Omaha, Neb.) spun a complete-game shutout in the pitcher's circle and registered four strikeouts.
