Softball’s Brandt, Giddings Claim NFCA All-Region Honors

LOUISVILLE, Ky.- The Eastern Nazarene College softball team garnered a pair of National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-Region nods as senior Taylor Brandt (Napa, Calif.) earned second team honors and junior Alexys Giddings (Kuna, Idaho) claimed third team accolades.

Brandt paced the Lions with a .469 batting average, 67 hits, and 46 runs scored. She also notched 33 RBIs, 17 doubles, four triples, and four home runs this spring while adding nine stolen bases. Brandt was named the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Player of the Year while earning All-NECC and NECC All-Tournament laurels.

Giddings batted .350 on the year with 43 base knocks, 27 RBIs, and 24 runs scored. She was selected to the All-NECC Team as well as the NECC All-Tournament team.

Eastern Nazarene concluded the 2023 campaign with a 22-21 overall record. The Lions captured their third New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) title and reached the NCAA Tournament for the third time in program history.
