Darcy Castro Claims NECC Softball Player of the Week Honors

MANSFIELD, Mass.- Senior Darcy Castro (Garden Grove, Calif.) of the Eastern Nazarene College softball team has been named the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Player of the Week, announced the league office Monday.

Castro batted .407 in an eight-game stretch to help the Lions to a 4-4 record on the week. She notched 11 base hits, including a pair of home runs, while adding six RBIs and seven runs scored.

Castro has posted 34 hits, 22 RBIs, and 22 runs scored this spring.

Eastern Nazarene owns a 15-17 overall record with a 6-2 mark in NECC competition. The Lions return to the diamond April 22 with a road series at New England College.
