Softball Drops Four Decisions on Action-Packed Tuesday
FORT MYERS, Fla.- Playing four games in one day, the Eastern Nazarene softball team suffered four setbacks as it squared off against Hiram, Newbury, Wilmington (Ohio) and Kenyon at the Gene Cusic Collegiate Classic.

FORT MYERS, Fla.- Playing four games in one day, the Eastern Nazarene softball team suffered four setbacks as it squared off against Hiram, Newbury, Wilmington (Ohio) and Kenyon at the Gene Cusic Collegiate Classic Tuesday.
The Lions dip to 2-6 on the season with the results. Eastern Nazarene fell to Hiram 5-2 in the opening contest of the day and was blanked by Newbury 6-0 in game two. The Lions absorbed a 3-0 loss to Wilmington in their third game before wrapping up the afternoon with a 7-0 defeat to Kenyon.
Sam Losano (Elverta, Calif.) racked up a team-high five hits on the day, including a two-hit effort against Wilmington. Britny Costa (New Bedford, Mass.) and Carissa Cicolini (Methuen, Mass.) each turned in two base knocks. Lara-Jean Collier (Lacona, N.Y.) and Cayla Clinkscale (Winchendon, Mass.) both collected a hit on the day.
Olivia Tovar (Coarsegold, Calif.) scored both runs for Eastern Nazarene against the Terriers, crossing the plate in the first and second innings.
Cicolini started game one of the day in the pitcher's circle in her first appearance of the season.
Jamie Block (Pembroke, Mass.) pitched twice on Tuesday, logging a complete game against Newbury with four strikeouts and no walks. Block started the final contest of the afternoon against Kenyon and recorded one out.
Kori Sorensen (Quincy, Mass.) tossed a total of 13.2 innings for the Lions as she went the distance against Wilmington and fanned 10. The sophomore came on in the first inning against Kenyon and worked the remainder of the game while recording three strikeouts.
Eastern Nazarene will take Wednesday off before returning to action March 7 to take on Olivet and Penn State-Behrend on their final day in the Sunshine State.
