Men’s Volleyball’s Alejandro Garcia Fernandez Earns Fourth NEVC Player of the Week Honor
SMITHFIELD, R.I.- Senior Alejandro Garcia Fernandez (San Juan, P.R.) of the Eastern Nazarene College men's volleyball team garnered New England Volleyball Conference Player of the Week accolades for the fourth time this season, as the league announced its weekly awards Tuesday.
He posted 37 kills and added 12 digs as the Lions recorded a 1-1 mark on the week.
Garcia Fernandez tallied 21 kills and four digs as Eastern Nazarene dropped a 3-1 decision at Rivier. He notched 16 kills and eight digs in the Lions' 3-0 victory at Bard.
This season, Garcia Fernandez leads the league with 4.37 kills-per-set and 0.75 aces-per-set while also ranking third in the conference with 223 total kills.
Eastern Nazarene boasts a 13-6 overall record with a 4-1 mark in the New England Volleyball Conference. The Lions host nationally-ranked Springfield March 27.
