Men’s Volleyball Defeats Dean, Regis Saturday

WESTON, Mass. - The Eastern Nazarene College men's volleyball team blanked Dean 3-0 before rallying past Regis 3-1 Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Eastern Nazarene rolled to a 25-13 victory in the opening frame to capture a 1-0 edge.
• The Lions cruised to a 25-10 win in the second set to widen their lead to 2-0.
• Eastern Nazarene posted a 25-12 decision in the third to lock up its fourth sweep of the year.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:

• Alejandro Garcia Fernandez (San Juan, P.R.) and Delfy Soler (Lawrence, Mass.) both tallied 10 kills and five digs.
• Jacob Zarges (Quincy, Mass.) finished with 12 assists, seven service aces, six kills, and four digs.
• Christopher Gil (Lawrence, Mass.) chipped in with 11 assists.
• Aaron Fonseca notched five of Dean's seven kills in the match.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Regis eked out a 26-24 win in the first set to snag a 1-0 lead.
• Eastern Nazarene answered with a 25-23 victory in the second frame to level the match at 1-1.
• The Lions prevailed 25-19 in the third to seize a 2-1 edge.
• Eastern Nazarene locked up its second victory of the day with a 25-21 decision in the fourth set.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:

• Alejandro Garcia Fernandez (San Juan, P.R.) racked up a team-high 15 kills while adding five digs and three aces.
• Jacob Zarges (Quincy, Mass.) recorded 14 kills, 10 digs, and three service aces.
• Delfy Soler (Lawrence, Mass.) registered 12 kills and seven digs.
• Christopher Gil (Lawrence, Mass.) dished out 38 assists to go with seven digs.
• Andrew Matzouranis paced the Pride with a match-best 16 kills.
