Men’s Volleyball’s Jacob Zarges Earns First-Ever NEVC Player of the Week Honor
SMITHFIELD, R.I.- Junior Jacob Zarges (Quincy, Mass.) of the Eastern Nazarene College men's volleyball team was named the New England Volleyball Conference Player of the Week, as the league announced its first-ever weekly awards.
Zarges led the Lions to three wins on the week, tallying 22 kills. He also notched 16 digs, 14 assists, and 11 service aces.
In Eastern Nazarene's 3-0 victory over Elms in the season-opener, Zarges posted 12 assists to go with nine digs and five kills. He capped off the week with 17 kills, 10 assists, and seven digs as the Lions collected a pair of 3-0 wins over Fisher.
Eastern Nazarene sports a 3-0 record on the year, the best start in program history. The Lions return to action January 24 as they travel to nationally-ranked Springfield.
