
Andy Mather Named Head Men’s Volleyball Coach
QUINCY, Mass.- Eastern Nazarene College Vice President for Athletics Dr. Brad Zarges has announced the hiring of Andy Mather as head men's volleyball coach. Mather becomes the fourth head coach in program history.
"I am very excited for the opportunity to work with the players and staff involved with the men's volleyball program at Eastern Nazarene College and I am proud to be a Lion," commented Mather. "I would like to thank Dr. Brad Zarges and Derek Schmitt for the opportunity and cannot wait to share ideas and insight in the process of continuing to develop an outstanding volleyball program within a quality Athletic Department."
Mather brings with him 40 years of coaching experience. He has had collegiate coaching stops at the University of Rhode Island, Boston College, MIT, Simmons, and Roger Williams. Mather has also held coaching positions at numerous high schools in Massachusetts. Most recently, Mather served as the head girls' volleyball coach at Mashpee High School.

Andy has been an educator for many years and brings an incredibly deep understanding of the importance of athletics to the educational process. His coaching experience at various levels and leadership of a volleyball club in the Boston area has created such a terrific platform for coaching and recruiting. We are excited to see future growth of the program this year and in years to come," offered Zarges.
Mather graduated from Lakehead University in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada before earning a Post Baccalaureate degree from Bridgewater State and a Master's degree from Cambridge College. He has been a physical education teacher at Bourne Middle School in Bourne, Massachusetts since 2005.
