Alejandro Garcia Fernandez Tabbed NECC Men’s Volleyball Player of the Week
MANSFIELD, Mass.- Junior Alejandro Garcia Fernandez (San Juan, P.R.) of the Eastern Nazarene College men's volleyball team has been selected New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Player of the Week for the second time this season, announced the league office Monday.
Garcia Fernandez averaged 4.11 kills-per-set and 1.56 digs-per-set to lead the Lions to a pair of conference victories on the week.
In Eastern Nazarene's 3-1 win at SUNY Poly, the junior notched 14 kills to go with four digs and four aces.
Garcia Fernandez racked up a match-high 23 kills while adding 10 digs and a pair of service aces as the Lions outlasted SUNY Potsdam 3-2.
Eastern Nazarene boasts an 11-8 overall record with a 2-0 mark in NECC play. The Lions return to action March 17 to host Nichols in a crucial league clash.
