Men’s Volleyball Wraps Up Regular Season with 3-0 Win at Sage
ALBANY, N.Y.- The Eastern Nazarene College men's volleyball team cruised to a 3-0 victory at Sage in the final regular-season match Thursday evening.
The Lions improve to 13-12 on the year and 3-3 in the New England Collegiate Conference with the win. The Gators slide to 4-23 overall and 0-5 in league competition with the result.
Alejandro Garcia Fernandez (San Juan, Puerto Rico) notched a match-best 12 kills to go with four digs and four total blocks. Jacob Zarges (Quincy, Mass.) posted 11 kills and five digs. Christopher Gil (Lawrence, Mass.) collected 21 assists while Aaron Huang (Quincy, Mass.) chipped in with 10 assists.
The guests prevailed 25-19 in the opening set to establish a 1-0 lead.
Eastern Nazarene doubled its advantage to 2-0 with a 25-21 decision in the second frame.
The Lions rolled to a 25-11 victory in the third to lock up their third conference win of the season.
Deshawn Fleary paced Sage with four kills on the night while Camden Knight recorded six digs and Ryan Jennings dished out 11 assists.
Looking ahead, Eastern Nazarene will begin NECC Tournament action April 5.
