Red-Hot Men’s Volleyball Collects 3-1 Win Over Colby-Sawyer
QUINCY, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College men's volleyball team extended its winning-streak to eight-straight matches with a 3-1 victory over Colby-Sawyer Wednesday evening at the Lahue Athletic Center.
The Lions climb to 9-6 on the season with the win while the Chargers fall to 1-10 overall.
Alejandro Garcia Fernandez (San Juan, Puerto Rico) notched a match-high 22 kills to go with nine digs and two aces. Delfy Soler (Lawrence, Mass.) registered 10 kills and a team-best three service aces. Jacob Zarges (Quincy, Mass.) finished with seven kills and four total blocks. Aaron Huang (Quincy, Mass.) posted 40 assists while Fernando Paredes (Passaic, N.J.) added 16 digs.
The hosts established a 1-0 edge with a 25-18 win in the opening frame.
The visitors answered with a 25-21 decision in the second to knot the match at 1-1.
Eastern Nazarene reclaimed a one-set advantage, 2-1, after triumphing 25-18 in the third set.
The Lions locked up their eighth victory in a row with as they cruised to a 25-14 win in the fourth.
Orlando Plagata paced Colby-Sawyer with nine kills and three aces on the night. Christopher Huynh tallied eight kills while AJ Gnieski recorded 25 assists and two service aces.
Up next, Eastern Nazarene returns to action March 11 to host SUNY Poly in the first New England Collegiate Conference match of the year.
