
Men’s Volleyball Dealt 3-1 Loss by No. 7 Wentworth
QUINCY, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College men's volleyball team suffered a 3-1 setback to Wentworth Tuesday evening at the Lahue Athletic Center.
The Lions dip to 1-6 on the season with the loss while the Leopards, ranked No. 7 in the latest AVCA National Poll, improve to 6-0 overall.
Alejandro Garcia Fernandez (San Juan, Puerto Rico) notched a team-high 13 kills to go with 15 digs and two aces. Delfy Soler (Lawrence, Mass.) finished with nine kills and nine digs. Aaron Huang (Quincy, Mass.) posted 27 assists and five digs. Jacob Zarges (Quincy, Mass.) chipped in with six kills while Fernando Paredes (Passaic, N.J.) recorded eight digs.
The visitors cruised to a 25-15 opening-set victory to claim a 1-0 lead.
Eastern Nazarene answered with a hard-fought 27-25 win in the second frame to knot the match at 1-1.
Wentworth regained a one-set edge, 2-1, after triumphing 25-18 in the third set.
The Leopards eked out a 25-20 decision in the fourth to remain undefeated on the year.
Jacob Waga paced the guests with a match-high 18 kills. Alex McLane added 12 kills and Jacob LaBouliere contributed with 11 kills while Connor Adams collected 45 assists with 10 digs.
