BEVERLY, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College men's volleyball team suffered a pair of 3-0 setback to nationally-ranked Endicott Wednesday evening.
The Lions slip to 2-2 on the season and 2-2 in the New England Collegiate Conference with the results. The Gulls, ranked No. 8 in the latest AVCA National Poll, improve to 4-2 overall and 4-0 in league play with the wins.
Tim Eddings (Endicott, N.Y) notched a team-high kills while Alejandro Garcia Fernandez (San Juan, Puerto Rico) posted 10 kills and six digs on the night. Leonel Caceres (Newington, Conn.) finished with 17 assists, 10 digs, and nine kills.
In the first match of the doubleheader, Endicott grabbed a 1-0 lead after earning a 25-23 win in the closely-contested first set.
The Gulls doubled their lead to 2-0 with a 25-19 victory in the second frame.
The home team locked up its third-straight conference win with a 25-18 decision in the third set.
In the series finale, Endicott opened the match with a 25-17 victory in the first set to claim a 1-0 edge.
The Gulls cruised to a 25-9 win in the second to push their advantage to 2-0.
The hosts capped off the sweep with a 25-19 decision in the third frame.
Up next, Eastern Nazarene returns home to take on Wentworth March 25 in non-league action.
