Alejandro Garcia Fernandez Named NECC Player & Rookie of the Week

MANSFIELD, Mass.- Freshman Alejandro Garcia Fernandez (San Juan, Puerto Rico) of the Eastern Nazarene College men's volleyball team has been tabbed the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week, announced the league office Monday.

Garcia Fernandez racked up 40 kills, 11 digs, nine service aces, and six total blocks in his first two collegiate matches to lead the Lions to a pair of league wins over Nichols.

Garcia Fernandez posted 16 kills, six aces, five digs, and four blocks In ENC's season-opening victory over Nichols before erupting for 24 kills, six digs, three service aces, and a pair of blocks as the Lions edged the Bison in five sets.

Looking ahead, Eastern Nazarene travels to Lasell March 17 for a non-conference doubleheader.
