Men’s Volleyball Drops 3-1 Decision at Nichols Friday
DUDLEY, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College men's volleyball team endured a 3-1 setback at Nichols Friday evening.
The Lions fall to 9-8 on the year and 1-1 in the New England Collegiate Conference with the result. The Bison improve to 11-5 overall and 1-1 in league play with the win.
Delfy Soler (Lawrence, Mass.) notched a team-best eight kills to go with seven digs and two aces. Tim Eddings (Endicott, N.Y.) finished with seven kills and eight digs. Brandon Jenkins (Norton, Mass.) tallied 18 assists and eight digs while Quinn Smith (Galway, N.Y.) collected 10 digs.
The visitors eked out a 26-24 win in the opening set to snag a 1-0 edge.
The home team leveled the match with a 25-21 victory in the second frame before claiming a 2-1 lead after cruising to a 25-9 decision in the third.
Nichols wrapped up its fourth-consecutive victory with a 25-15 win in the fourth set.
Lance Law paced the Bison with 16 kills while Ray Wang registered 15 kills and five service aces. Kevin Keohane dished out 43 assists while Oscar Chavez racked up 22 digs and Collin Hunter added 14 digs on the night.
Following a 12-day hiatus, Eastern Nazarene will return to the court to host Nichols March 11 in a non-conference tilt.
