Men’s Volleyball Opens NECC Slate with 3-0 Win at Dean
FRANKLIN, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College men's volleyball team cruised past Dean in straight sets Monday evening in the first New England Collegiate Conference match of the year.
The Lions improve to 9-7 on the season and 1-0 in NECC action with the victory. The Bulldogs drop to 2-11 overall and 0-1 in league competition with the result.
Tim Eddings (Endicott, N.Y.) paced the team with 11 kills and seven digs. Chris Jaskiewicz (Oakdale, Conn.) notched eight kills and three blocks. Delfy Soler (Lawrence, Mass.) finished with five kills and eight digs while Nicholas Thibeau (Spencerport, N.Y.) posted five kills. Quinn Smith (Galway, N.Y.) racked up 15 digs and Brandon Jenkins (Norton, Mass.) registered 27 assists.
The guests rolled to a 25-11 win in the opening set to capture a 1-0 lead.
Eastern Nazarene collected a 25-16 victory in the second frame to widen the margin to 2-0.
The Lions locked up their first conference win of the season with a 25-19 decision in the third.
Aaron Brody led the home team with seven kills and 10 digs while John Kauffman recorded six kills and Tyler Martins added 14 assists.
Looking ahead, Eastern Nazarene continues league play at Nichols February 28.
